Introduction to Judging in Competition Climbing – New e-Learning Course

Jan 3, 2022

CEC is excited to launch its first e-Learning Module: Introduction to Judging in Competition Climbing.

This module has been designed as the introductory step in the Officials Pathway. Available in English and French, this interactive online training will introduce participants to what it means to be a judge and the essential knowledge and skills they will need to carry out their role in competitive climbing. It will also offer a place to practice and/or review skills before judging at a competition.

The training is offered free of charge, with a recommended donation of $25. CEC has created an Education Fund program, and plans to develop more training in the short future, targeting all roles in competition climbing: officials, setters, coaches, etc. Your donation will be directed toward this fund.

Visit the CEC Learning page under Resources to access the purchase page.

CEC would like to thank our Working Group Experts who helped build this module:

  • Kateri Belanger
  • Paul Hughes
  • Paul Ledet
  • Sebastian Powell
